Scan-steering is manufacturing complete steering systems consisting of Magnetic compass, Gyro compass, Repeaters, Autopilots, Rudder control system, Hydraulic steering gear, Power units, Accessories and Computer systems. Having only one supplier of a complete steering system you have the advantage of Total compatibility, Easy installation, Easy maintainence, Easy service, Quick support, Tested systems and Great performance. Scan-steering has more than 30 years of experience in making special steering systems for all kinds of vessels. Scan-steering has several thousand installations in all kinds of ships. The systems can consist of one, two, three or more rudders. The multi rudder systems can be electronic or mechanical synchronized. All of Scan-steering's steering systems are made according to IMO, SOLAS and can be classified by any classification authorities. The steering gears are constructed with one or two cylinders which give a very high degree of safety and reliability. The steering gears can be provided with a support ball bearing, a spherical rudder carrier bearing, or other types of bearing. The steering is supplied with a hand hydraulic wheel pump (axial piston pump), for hand and emergency steering. The wheel pump can be deliveered for panel mounting, but can also be delivered built-into one of Scan-Steering's steering columns. Hydraulic pump unit(s) can be supplied according to requirement. All necessary valves and fittings are supplied according to classification requirement.
